A Move & Fortune Painting
Read MoreSilk Painting ~ In Progress
I stayed up late a few months ago to finally get ink onto silk for this painting. This was in my last official semester at Hongik University as I finished up my thesis project and paper. I had one more screen left over from dying silk and stretching it on the screen. We used some kind of dried berry bought from a traditional Korean medicine place and even learned how to make rice glue to stretch and paste the silk onto a wood frame.
The subject for the painting is the various “me”’s I’ve lived in New York, Philly, and LA as well as the phases I’ve gone through in Seoul, Korea.
